As reported on here the other day which caught the attention of so many people, Its seems that Joe Cole is off and will be leaving Chelsea. We are waiting for confirmation and its the confirmation that many Chelsea fans are dreading. The Daily Star is reporting today that Chelsea have withdrawn the contract offer to Joe that has been on the table and have given up hope of keeping him.

In the article it states Cole's intention to leave Chelsea has come about because of the terms of the contract that he has been offered by the club. Its reported as being a one-year rolling contract that he is unhappy with.

From Chelsea's point of view Joe has had his injury problems and because of that hasn't featured heavily in the first team. They will also argue that since his return from injury he hasn't been at his best and therefore has been used as mainly a substitute this season under Ancelotti.

The problem I can see that Joe has is that Ancelotti hasn't seen anywhere near enough of him at the club. Of course everyone knows what Joe is capable of and you can bet your life that he will show exactly what he is made of in South Africa. As a result Carlo needs to make plans for the squad and would have an influence on new contract negotiations. So that would explain for me anyway why he has been offered what its rumoured he has.

The same article states that he isn't making huge demands on Chelsea at all so why all the intense speculation that he is looking for 120k a week and that the Arsenal have offered 110K?

Todays news if true is the nail in the coffin for Joe at Chelsea and no matter how we look at it, its devastating. If they have withrawn the contract then whats done is done and there's no looking back.

KTBFFH..
