Its official. Chelsea have confirmed on the official website the following:
Chelsea Football Club can confirm that Joe Cole will be leaving the club upon the expiration of his contract at the end of this month. It brings to an end Joe's seven-year stay at Stamford Bridge, and we would like to thank him for his dedicated years of service and wish him well in his future career.
The club have also confirmed the same for Ballack.
Chelsea Football Club can confirm Michael Ballack will be leaving the club upon the expiration of his contract at the end of this month. The midfielder has spent four years at Chelsea, and all at the club would like to place on record our thanks for his service and wish him luck for the future.
I can understand the clubs position regarding Ballack. However I will never understand this decision about Joe Cole. Ancelotti and Ray Wilkins wanted him to stay so why didn't the club pull their finger out?
What do you think? Are we right to let Joe go?
Joe has to go. We cannot hand out massive contracts to players who are frankly past their sell by dates.
ReplyDeleteWe have young players like Stoch who can fill in perfectly well for Cole. Stoch has pace, delivery and an eye for goal, much more decisive than Cole is. Young Josh McEachran should be given a go (in parts) next season too.
I wish him well, but his time was up.
Anonymous -- Joes not past his sell by date, it would have been a lot smarter to give him a 100k a week contract then sell him next year for 12mill. Joes been kicked out for some reason and its going to look like a stupid decicion when he stars for england in Africa !!!!
ReplyDeletei believe that there is some medical issues what we dont know and Chelsea doctors do. There is a reason why ManU wont give him 4year contract and i think its because his recent injuries. Im in shock that we let Ballack go, he and Belletti were super subtitutes. Joe, Ballack and Belletti...I wish you all the best and your always going to be in my allstar blues team.
