The Chelsea Daily Drivel is a daily update of all the stories concerning our club, the rumours, the opinions and more....
So here is the latest from around the web on Monday 14th June 2010 including: United in for Ballack, Didier's injury, Malouda's not happy, Jose Mourinho on Kaka, Adrian Mutu David Silva, Milos Krasic and Nilmar.
First to the news that Manchester United are reportedly in for Michael Ballack who as we all know is available on a free transfer. The Sunday Mirror reports that Alex Ferguson is looking to make Ballack another shock free transfer signing after signing Michael Owen on a free last summer. More to follow in the coming weeks on this one.
Didier Drogba sat out of training with the Ivory Coast national team at the weekend as a precaution. It looks as though Drogba is more than likely to miss their opening game against Portugal now as he attempts to recover from Surgery on the broken bone in his arm last week.
Florent Malouda now and was (like the rest of us) surprised to be left on the bench last Friday for the France's opening game against Uruguay that finished 0-0. Malouda said of the point gained from the game and not being selected:
Now to Jose Mourinho who has reportedly told the Real Madrid board of directors that Kaka is not for sale and to reject any offers from Chelsea for the player. Reason being, he feels he can now get the best out of Kaka and has blamed the drama at Real last season for his injury problems.
Adrian Mutu has finally been ordered to pay Chelsea 17m Euro's damages after losing his final appeal in a legal case over a positive cocaine test. The Swiss Federal Court on Monday followed the Court of Arbitration for Sport and FIFA in ruling that Mutu must pay the record sum.
Chelsea terminated the Romania international's contract after he failed a drug test in 2004. He still had nearly four years left on his contract. FIFA awarded damages to Chelsea because Mutu breached his contract, a decision upheld by CAS. Mutu took his appeals to Switzerland's supreme court. Federal judges said CAS followed correct legal process when it dismissed Mutu's challenge to the FIFA decision.
More now on David Silva. Its seems that Chelsea are now front runners to sign Silva after the World Cup. Its reported that Silva has already turned down a 5-year contract offer from Man City. Valencia have already sold David Villa for 40m to Barcelona but its being reported that they need to sell one or two more players. Valencia President Manueal Llorente said:
One player who won't be coming to Chelsea is CSKA Moscow starlet Milos Krasic. Chelsea are rumoured to be interested in him with Arsenal, Man City and Man United monitoring developments but the player has his heart set on a move Italy. He said:
Finally Chelsea are reported to be interested in Brazilian Striker Nilmar who currently plays for Villarreal in Spain. The 25 year old moved to Spain last summer and had a half decent season but its believed that as Villarreal failed to qualify for European football next season the player would be sold.

It's frustrating, But that's life. I hope I get a chance to show my quality. Hopefully we can take this as an opportunity to move on. That will be important.'

"We have received calls about Silva but no concrete offers. Right now nothing is out of the question because we need to safeguard the future of the club."Silva is rumoured to have a release clause in his contract of 28m but its understood a bid of around 20m will be accepted in this instance by Valencia. The players agent Amadeo Rengel said:
"The option of Chelsea is the most interesting in terms of the sporting project. The only thing in my head is the national team and to have a good World Cup. I'm not thinking about the club or possible exits."
One player who won't be coming to Chelsea is CSKA Moscow starlet Milos Krasic. Chelsea are rumoured to be interested in him with Arsenal, Man City and Man United monitoring developments but the player has his heart set on a move Italy. He said:
"Yes, I want to play in Italy. I don't know what team, but I want to go there. I have heard about Juventus."
