As a Chelsea fan I can only say that the events of this weekend have been fantastic for us. We have beaten Villa to get to the FA Cup Final once more. United only drew at Blackburn and suffered more injuries and Pompey beat Spurs!
Added to those results we have had the news that Ashley Cole should be ready to return to Action by April 25th and Michael Essien should be back for Liverpool on 1st May!
Things couldn't be more opposite at Old Trafford right now. They are suffering a massive dip in form which coincides with the injury to Wayne Rooney. They had a chance to regain the lead by one point yesterday at Blackburn which (we know from recent experience) is no easy place to go and they blew it. Blackburn held firm and the game finished 0-0 which means they remain a point behind us and we have a game in hand which is against Bolton tomorrow. If we win we go 4 points clear of United. Arsenal also play on Weds Spurs away and they could be second come Thursday morning.
The Injuries to United are key at the moment and my my how the tables have turned. I posted on here "What a difference a week makes in football" and you may aswell extend that to three weeks! United were flying Rooney was scoring for fun and now he is injured Berbatov just isn't cutting it as like us they are also out of the Champions League.
Yesterday however was a massive blow to United as Sir Alex spoke after the game. He said:
"It's a blow, there's no question about it. It makes it really difficult to win the league now, That is a fantastic result for Chelsea. It has slipped away from us.We have a lifeline if Chelsea blow it but to my eyes they have an easy game against Bolton on Tuesday. We would expect them to win that and it will put them four points clear." (source BBC).
Its now down to Chelsea to ensure we beat Bolton and this time (after I have been saying it all season) we take the chance to extend our lead with only 4 games to go!. Just remember we can't afford to ease up in any way. Yes United have their problems but we have some difficult games coming up and Arsenal are still there or there abouts, but again, they too now have key players injured and out for the season. Van Persie is due to be back for the Spurs game in midweek which will give them a boost but they still miss Gallas and Fabregas.
United have to play Man City who likes us in recent games are scoring for fun and are not troubled with Injuries at all. This will be a difficult one for United which their mounting injuries and could be more points dropped at the weekend.
We've got Spurs and an extra day's rest on them on Saturday. Spurs had extra time yesterday and lost to Pompey (ahhh) and will have to face Arsenal on Weds night. We play Tuesday so hopefully we will have the legs on them. I have to say it was noticeable on Saturday at Wembley just how tired Villa players looked compared to the Chelsea boys. Chelsea do look hungry and fit these days and let's hope our level of fitness shows this week with 6 massive points from Bolton and Spurs.
The only thing I will say is that we never do anything easy though do we so expect twists and turns still in the race for the Title. Chelsea are in the driving seat however as Ancelotti said after the Cup Final:
"I am focused on the next game. I don't like to speak with "if" because "if" is not really true, we know we have to work hard again, We are very close to winning but we didn't win anything. We need to work hard for one month again, it is not a lot of time, six games and I think that if we prepare well every game like a final, we can take a great result this year." (source ChelseaFC)
So with 6 games left of our season, 5 in the Premier League and the FA Cup Final, With Ashley Cole and Michael Essien back ready to play and United stumbling, things are looking up for Chelsea.
COME ON THE BLUE BOYS!
p.s. Spare a thought for poor Rafa Benitez who guaranteed Liverpool fans fourth place this season. After drawing with Fulham at home and City thrashing Birmingham, it looks like Europa league for them again next season!.
KTBFFH!
"we never do anything easily". Yes you do. You bought your overnight success with roman's rubles very easily. You'd be bankrupt like Pompey if it wasn't for him. Enjoy your hollow victories.
ReplyDeletewtf we didn't tire we just gave up, fucking cheating londoners (Man U included as there glory hunting londoners favourites) it's the only way u ever win anythink, thats y u can't win the champions league because the refs don't cheat for u abroad, two red cards and a pen should have been given in that match but because most of the population support london teams they have to be successful or they'll lose support and huge amounts of money and people will have a go at refs for giving the right decision because there not happy with a london team getting somethink against them same with your favourites Man u, in the end the referee bottled it and gave constant bad decisions towards us same with all these other London teams/ london favourites, and it doesn't happen with any other teams but these ones and it's so obvious that they r favouring u lo , the amount of times weve been cheated by these teams this season and other teams in the prem have been cheated this season is just rediculous, we outplayed u throughout that match and sure we may not have won with those right decisions being given although im sure we would have, we didn't get given the chance and now were thinking what if, SAME OLD COCKNEY ALWAYS CHEATING!!!
