Woken up to the news that Deco wants to quit Chelsea to go back to Brazil to be near his kids after playing for Portugal in the World Cup this summer. Deco joined Chelsea back in the summer of 2008 and was signed by Scolari, enough said!. Deco has been quoted as saying:

"I want to go back to Brazil, I still have a couple of good years of high-level football in me but I want to be near my kids. Ideally I'd like to go after the World Cup and I've been talking to Chelsea about it. It will all depend on Chelsea – if the club release me or let me go on loan. I'm not going to rush to choose a new club but it's time to get back."

All I can say is that he should go back. His personal reasons are justified as family comes first but from a footballing standpoint the blokes hasn't done a stroke at Chelsea. He started off with a great performance against Portsmouth at the Bridge as he scored in our 4-0 win. Who would of thought at the time that this was the best we would ever see of him and he would never again feature as effective.

Its a case of another big name player from abroad that has come to the Premiership and has struggled. I have said time and time again this season that Joe Cole gets the nod for me over Deco and even though Joe has struggled to re-discover the form we know he can produce, he still gets the nod for me.

I say let him go. What do you fellow Chelsea fans think?

CAREFREE & KTBFFH EVERYONE!

  1. I guess the first thing I think is that there is very little reason for a story like this

He hasn't produced....we all know that. Yet he has worked hard, kept quiet, and is now leaving for a legitimate reason (his family)

We have much more bigger issues to talk about then mocking (which is what is being done here) a man who didn't have that big an impact anyway yet never caused us any issues

  2. Like I said, for family reasons I can understand. But, he has never produced a level of form that warrants his selection in the side. He loses possession, gets caught when put under pressure so my opinion is its no great loss.

You said never caused any issues. Do you forget the summer when he went to the papers insisting he wanted to leave then!?

  3. Why do you keep bringing up his family then state how he played? They aren't comparable as ones family comes first, period. So this, "Yea, he is going for his family but he sucked" statements make very little sense. He could be our best player and him leaving because he wants to be closer to his kids is fine w/ me.

As for him wanting to go to Inter, the only people who thought it was a "big deal" were those looking for something to find so they could blow it out of proportion.

Fact is, it didn't effect the team, nobody cared, and it went away

This story is embarrassing. Picking on Deco is like finding the weak, defenseless kid because there is no one else to pick on at the time. We all know Deco has sucked since he came.

  4. He could be our best player!?" Well sorry I have to disagree. I am sure alot of Chelsea fans will agree that he isn't and hasn't been but I understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and in this article I am purely expressing my own opinion that its no big loss if he does leave Chelsea.

I understand the situation with his family and am in full agreement and support his decision if that is what he wishes to do.

I am stating my opinion from a football standpoint and how it will affect Chelsea if he did leave. To me it won't.

Its not picking on Deco at all. I am purely expressing an opinion which I feel is echoed amongst supporters.
