So John Terry today begins his time off from football to get his personal life and the situation he has found himself in sorted out in Dubai. Now I have said from day one since the story broke that what he does off the pitch is his business and all I care about is what he does for Chelsea on the pitch for those 90 mins.
Now the press and the media will focus and analyise JT and the goals and make a right meal of it and blame everything on him and the goings on rather than simple mistakes. But like I have said in my report from last night how many times do you see JT misjudge the flight of a high ball and jump under it with no pressure being put on him by the opposing forward jumping with him?.
It was only after the game when Ray Wilkins confirmed that JT will take a leave of absence and what he said that maybe got me thinking. Wilkins said:
"They just had a little chat, John and Carlo, and decided that would be the best for all concerned".
What does he mean "all concerned?". There is no question that the pressure and intense media speculation about John Terry has surely taken some toll on JT's personal life and god knows how he has dealt with whats happened. Don't forget added to that he also had the England Armband taken away from him by Fabio Cappelo. Like I have said before I am not saying what he did in his personal life was right or wrong as its not my business.
The fact that Ancelotti has said for "all concerned" and the mistake last night for the second goal tells me that maybe he needs to get his head in the right place and thats why he is off to save his marriage. We will never know for definate the situation with the second goal last night but he will be made as a scapegoat by the press.
I want to clarify that I mean no disrespect to JT and will always be 100% behind him as he is our captain. Its just a shame that its come to this but I respect what he needs to do and what he is about to do and we can't blame him for wanting to do the right thing. Its just disappointing that its affecting our football on the pitch as he won't be leading us out against Cardiff.
Good luck JT and hope to have you back asap!.
CAREFREE & KTBFFH!
All concerned means everyone who has an interest in the matter. It does not indicate that people are concerned about Terry's form. This was his first poor game after the incident and he has already played in three before then and been superb. Making a meal out of nothing you ask me.
