What the hell is going on with our injuries at the moment. As reported on here before, Jose Bosingwa is out. Ashley Cole is out and we are yet to have confirmation when he will return. Frank Lampard is out for three weeks. Didier Drogba has now been confirmed as out for three weeks with a rib injury suffered when Jonny Evans peformed his Karate Kick on him and got away with it and John Terry had to pull out of the England v Brazil game with an ankle problem but he hopes to be fit to face Wolves next weekend.
We all accept that its part and parcel that players will miss some games due to injuries in a season but to have all these players injured at the same time is very strange. Its been reported that Carlo Ancelotti's teams are normally the fittest in the league so could it be his training methods or just pure coincidence?. Maybe it could be down to the face that there isn't alot of rotation in the squad under Carlo. Just one or two players for the Premier League games and its taken its toll on the players.
Our squad is strong enough to deal with injuries and I am sure we are able to cover the likes of Bosingwa (Belletti/Ivanovic) Cole (Ferreira) Lampard (Joe Cole/Malouda) Drogba (Kalou/Sturridge) for the up coming game against Wolves at the Bridge this weekend but with two big games afterwards at Porto away (to win the group and have a favourable draw in the knockout stages) and then the Arsenal away so we need to get these players back sooner rather than later.
One thing is for sure, our medical team will be working overtime in the next couple of weeks.
