I would like to ask you all a question: "Just how hands on is Roman these days and is it going to be a help or a hinderance?". The reason i am asking this question is because of a story i read in the British media. The story reported that Ancelotti was brought into Chelsea as Roman's "Yes" man. Abramovich wants to take a much more hands on role within the club and he wants the final say in who comes to play for the club and who leaves (Which leads me onto another thought process about Kenyon, but thats to follow later).
Carlo Ancelotti has spent the last 8 years in charge of Milan where it is common knowledge that the Manager/Coach or whatever you like to call him, has no or little control over player purchases & player sales. For example, Ronaldinho was brought into Milan this season and has only started 18 times this season out of their 38 games. Ancelotti clearly didn't fancy him which shows he didn't buy him.
One important thing for me in the first English Interview that Ancelotti did for Chelsea TV that he said was when questioned about his tactics he said something along the lines, that he had Zidane at Juventus, He knew he had to build his team around Zidane and made a team that would complement him. So will it be that Abramovich will buy the players and Ancelotti will mould them around a Lampard or a Kaka etc etc.
Look at Sheva and Ballack. You have to say hand on heart that you can't agree 100% that they were two players that Jose Mourinho bought. So do you think that this is what will happen now at Chelsea and this is the way forward or do we have it totally wrong??.
If it is the case will this be a help for Chelsea or a Hinderance and where do you think this leaves Kenyon. After all, Scolari was sacked and it seemed as though Kenyon had little say in that so where do you think his influence will come into play now with the transfer market?
I personally hope this is not the case and we stick to the principle that a manager should be allowed to manage and he chooses who he wants to bring to the club etc etc.
